Stress is something Temi understands very well. She is a wife, mother of two, and one of her children is on the autism spectrum. Despite being a spousal caregiver for many years while being a caregiver and homeschool mom to her younger son, she was able to manage the stress and help her son who mysteriously lost his speech at the tender age of three. However, with lots of prayers, therapies, and incorporating stress-reducing artwork in their home, her son regained many skills and can now speak. Everyday, Temi celebrates her son and shares their remarkable journey in her Amazon #1 Best-Selling ebook,
As a studio-based artist, Temi had developed a passion for abstract art. Her sources of inspiration comes from her many personal and family life experiences where she has been able to overcome many challenges while in the midst of the storm. As a fine artist, therapist, and certified stress management coach, Temi has experienced the benefits of stress-reducing paintings to reduce her son's anxiety, improve his concentration, as well as reduce her family's overall stress. These factors combined can improve an individual’s overall performance/productivity.
Temi articulates herself with undulating acrylics, chalk pastels, alcohol inks, and textiles onto stretched canvases, wood platforms, and yupo paper. With each painting, Temi immerses her emotions and thoughts into the abstract realm with the goal of creating visually and emotionally appealing responses.
She deliberately uses vibrant colors, directed -chemical reactions, and geometric shape manipulation to elicit visual responses. Although she's a conceptualist by nature, much of Temi's work is process-driven through experimentation using different mediums. She prefers her paintings to utilize various color harmonies and surface textures to create visual engagement.
Every piece of work grants her the opportunity to research the possibilities within the mediums using an array of application techniques. Temi’s collection has been described by her collectors as not only an epiphany of paintings, but a collection of inspirational artworks that help people, thrive, succeed, and celebrate their innate ability to conquer and overcome life's challenges.
Temi lives in Alabama with her husband and two sons. Temi has collectors of her work in the USA, UK, and Nigeria. You can find her paintings at The Heersink Health Science Building at Wallace Community College and at Health Center South in Dothan, AL.
